Artist Statement
Portrait photography is one of the most interesting and unique types of photography. You can photograph one person a hundred times and none of the photographs would be the same. I use photography to capture the beauty of people and things around me. In my opinion people are the most interesting to take photographs of because they are always changing. I love taking candid shots because you capture people being their true selves. I also enjoy staged photography because you can come up with unique poses and scenery that fits your model鈥檚 personality. I also like to see how far someone will go to get great photos. There鈥檚 nothing better than having models that will take anything on whether it鈥檚 an adult or child. I have tons of photos that I took of my niece and she will do anything I ask her to do for a photo, it's honestly amazing.
I enjoy coming up with new and creative ideas for photographs and setting up different scenes, whether they are serious or comical. I want the person to feel comfortable, relaxed and have fun while being photographed. When your model feels comfortable, they are more likely to open up to various ideas to get great photographs. I love nothing more than going through images after a shoot and seeing all of the great photographs that came out of it.
I feel that my photographs are unique. I set a scene but allow the person to be there complete selves and I am open to try any ideas that they have. Photography started out as just a hobby for me but I enjoyed it so much I decided I wanted to make a career of it. I believe there are no limits, I am open to trying any type of photoshoot even if I鈥檝e never done it before, it's better to try than to not try at all.
