大发六合彩 is transforming the former Archbishop Prendergast High School property into a comprehensive multi-use facility that will provide affordable and quality education, training, and community programs to area residents. This additional location, which is located at Garrett Road and Lansdowne Avenue, supports the College鈥檚 mission to provide accessible programs and services to the diverse surrounding community.听
The College is renovating the 80,000 square foot main building and adding a 30,000 square foot annex and a 17,000 square foot Early Learning Center that will transform a 7.5-acre portion of the 35-acre property into a new, full-service center. The new location will offer听 community education programs such as computer literacy, GED preparation, and reading and writing programs for English Language Learners. Additionally, the new location will feature academic and career/workforce credit-earning training programs in high-priority occupations.听

An Early Learning Center
A 17,000 sq. ft. Early Learning Center will provide a state-of-the-art experiential learning lab for our Early Childhood Education program, ensuring ECE students gain skills that focus on child observation for age-appropriate activity design, curriculum planning, and advocacy, as well as how to engage families and work with diverse learners to meet today鈥檚 demands in the field.

Construction Update
November 2024:听
- Work is progressing with dry wall being installed on the third floor and then moving to the second floor while rough in work continues.听
- Shoring (support) for the new elevators and Annex connecting to the main building is moving slower than anticipated but continuing in the needed locations so work can again resume on the first floor.听
- The Early Learning Center roof is being installed while work continues inside of both floors.听
- Site work halted along Huey Avenue while the College waits for PECO to relocate an existing electrical line found in the path of the road widening.听
- The College is working with PECO to start work on a new gas line that would feed the new center site and buildings.
- Wind Screens indicating the January 2026 open date are installed.
October 2024:听
- Work is progressing as planned with an anticipated completion date of late 2025.The steel installation is under way for the annex and elevator areas that will connect to the main building. The foundations of the annex and new entrance are completed and steel for these areas is expected in late October for installation.听
- The Early Learning Center roof deck is being installed and it is expected to be closed in for interior work by the end of this year.听
- The sidewalk along Lansdowne Ave is completed as well as new walls for the loading dock area and retaining walls between the high school and the college.听
- New sewer and storm lines are installed along the front of the building.听
- The college is working with PECO and Aqua to install permanent power and water and has filed an application for PECO gas service to the site.
- Road work around the property is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
August 2024:听Work continues on the new campus project with site work continuing in and around the campus and work by all trades on each floor of the main building as well as in the ELC. Work on all the roadways adjoining the property is schedule to be completed over summer. We are still estimating a late 2025 completion.
May 2024: The groundbreaking took place in spring 2023 and construction is progressing as planned. Beginning work on the foundation for the Early Learning Center has begun. The College is meeting with SEPTA to discuss adding a transit shelter at the intersection of Lansdowne and Huey Road. The opening is projected for January 2026 with substantial completion for late 2025.
