The College uses the latest digital learning technology to deliver effective individual and group learning experiences within a content-rich learning environment. Online courses offered by ´ó·¢ÁùºÏ²Ê are created by faculty with the assistance of instructional learning designers, in order toÌýadhere to the same academic rigorÌýas campus-based courses.
The College offers more than 250 online and hybridÌýcourses in over xxx programs throughout the academic year. Canvas, the College's learning management system, gives students 24/7 access to coursework and technical support. Online courses can help students accelerate their degree completion time, learn new skills, and seek a promotion or a new job, all while managing their critical life responsibilities.

Hybrid courses includeÌýelements of in-person and online instruction,Ìý
Hybrid courses have a reduced amount of time in-person, on-campus. Teaching and learning occurs both in-person andÌýonline classrooms. Classroom attendance and online participation is mandatory. Examples of hybrid courses may be an evening course that meets for 3 hours a week on a Monday night every other week or a course that meets 1 hour a week in the classroom and the remaining 2 hours of that week are conducted online.

New or Returning?ÌýIf you are new to the College or returning after an absence of a year or more, you must submit anÌýapplication for admissionÌýas a first step. Your acceptance materials will provide registration instructions. Visit the ´ó·¢ÁùºÏ²ÊWelcome Page for detailed enrollment steps.
Out Of State?ÌýThe College is a member of SARA. However, we cannot accept applications from students living in California. Please review our Non-PA student document for further details. For questions, contact distance@dccc.edu.
Registration Tips
- PayÌýattention to section numbers when registering. Sections numbers that end inÌýA or BÌýare 7 week courses: Section A courses meet during the first half of the semester,Ìýwhile section B courses meet during the second half. Section numbers that end in W are offered during the accelerated Winter session.
- Review course commentsÌýin the Class Search menu for anyÌýrequirements for in-person exams or labs. In-person proctored exams may beÌýrequired as part of our student identity verification initiative and can be taken at any of our College locations at no additional cost. Students who choose to take a proctored exam at another institution orÌýonline through a remote proctoring service are responsible for any associated costs.

- An Online Learning welcome letter will be emailed to your studentÌýemail account within minutes of registering for an online course. The letter explains how to access your course, when you can access the course, and how to get started after you register.ÌýAlready registered for an online class? - All students have access toÌý— the College’s online portal and official means of communication. DelaGate provides a central source of information for students, including email access, course registration, financial aid information, billing, records and more.Ìý
- The College uses to deliver online, hybrid and classroom courses. StudentsÌýlog in to Canvas to access course materials and assignments, submit writing assignments and homework, participate in discussion boards, interact with instructors, and take quizzes and exams. Online and hybrid learning communication methods may include chat, video conferencing, email, social media, discussion boards, and more. Some courses utilize e-books in addition to Canvas to completeÌýcoursework.Ìý
- TheÌý for Android, iOS and Kindle devices helps students stay connected to ´ó·¢ÁùºÏ²Ê withÌýhelpful features like announcements and class cancellations, course lists, grades, maps, and more.Ìý, or search for my´ó·¢ÁùºÏ²Êon Google Play, the Apple App Store, or Amazon.
Motivation and Organization: Successful online/hybrid learning students are self-motivated, active participants who manage their virtual study environments closely.ÌýAll online and hybrid learning courses have due dates for assignments, discussions, quizzes and exams, so students must adjust their study habits and preparation time to meet these deadlines.
Necessary Skills and Abilities:ÌýStudents who take online courses should be able toÌý

- Access and maneuver the Internet with confidence.
- Download, save, and open varied file types including documents, images, and audio or video files, among others.
- Install plugins and related minor software upgrades, as needed.
- Designate a location for schoolwork and a system to let others know that you are studying.
- Develop a routine and schedule to dedicate consistent time each week towards their studies.
- Use a calendar or calendar app to keep track of due dates for assignments, online office hours for faculty, and more.
- Meet deadlines and due dates throughout the semester.
- Reach out to faculty or fellow students with any questions or problems.
Required Technical Tools: Students need reliable and consistent access to a suitable desktop or laptop computer or tablet and the Internet to take online courses. While students may access courses on mobile phones, a computer, laptop, or tablet with a comfortable keyboard, large screen, and built-in features like cameras and multiple ports for USB drives, memory cards, and ethernet cables is strongly recommended. Complaint Process
All students are encouraged to review the student handbook to understand their rights, as well as College policies and procedures. To file a complaint, please visit the student complaints website. Students living out of state should attempt to resolve any academic issues or complaints with the College first. If after following the College's complaint procedures the issue cannot be resolved internally, you may file a complaint with the appropriate state agency.
