The Office of Disability Services (ODS) is committed to providing students with disabilities reasonable accommodations and the necessary supports to reach their educational goals. The Office works closely with students and faculty to foster success.
A variety of resources are available for faculty with the goal to better support accessibility. In addition, the Disability Advisory Committee was formed to promote awareness of disability issues through education, to identify areas of concern within the College听community and to serve in an advisory capacity to the Office of Disability Services.

Prospective Students
Four steps to getting started.
1. APPLICATION FOR ADMISSIONS
- Submit an application to the College (Go to dccc.edu/apply for the application)
- Submit an official, final high school transcript after graduation
2. FINANCIAL AID AND TUITION

- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at . Be sure to List the College鈥檚 name and school code, 007110

3. PLACEMENT TESTING
- Schedule your placement test on or phone

- Take your placement test and schedule a college planning session to review your scores and schedule classes
4. DOCUMENTATION
- Submit current and comprehensive documentation to the Office of Disability Services, Marple Campus, Room 1335
- Marple Campus students meet with Simone Richardson, Director of Disability Services, to discuss accommodation procedures. Branch campus students will meet with the Assistant Director.
- It will be your responsibility to reach out to the Office of Disability Services to have your accommodations letters sent out each term
Documentation Guidelines
Students with disabilities who are requesting accommodations at the College must contact the听Office of Disability Services and provide the appropriate documentation. A school plan such as an individualized education program (IEP) is insufficient documentation but can be included as part of a more comprehensive assessment battery, such as a Re-Evaluation Report or Psychological Evaluation. To ensure that this documentation is complete and the necessary accommodations are implemented, please refer to the guidelines linked below.

Accommodation Process for New Students
Request AccommodationsPlease complete the Student Accommodations Request Form:听. Once you have completed the form, please also submit your accompanying documentation (Our documentation guidelines can be found via the Quick Link tab under our contact information.) . Please ONLY complete this form if you are not already registered with our office for accommodations. |
Documentation EvaluationThe Office of Disability Services will review your documentation within 3-4 business days. The Director or Assistant Director of Disability Services will contact you directly via your 大发六合彩student email account to schedule an appointment. Please be sure to monitor your email as this is our primary mode of communication. Should you require an alternative method of contact, please email accommodations@dccc.edu. |
Accommodation LettersOnce the accommodations process has been completed and you have met with the Director or Assistant Director of Disability Services, we will send your letters to your instructors via email. All students are required to request their letters to be sent out each term they are enrolled in courses. The Office of Disability Services will not send any accommodations听letters without the consent of the student. |
Implementing AccommodationsStudents are expected to request their accommodations and or communicate their accommodations needs to their instructors. It is important that students听maintain ongoing communication throughout the academic term with their instructors. Should you experience difficulties with speaking with your instructor regarding your accommodations, please contact our office. Furthermore, students must make contact with the Office of Disability Services to request their accommodations letters to be sent to their instructors each term. Due to the confidential nature of accommodations letters, we cannot send the letters out without the permission of the student of which we have approved the accommodations for.听 |
Assistive Technology
Assistive Technology Workstations are available to students on every College location. The College has a variety of software and technology to assist students with impaired sensory, manual or speaking skills. Accommodations for students with hearing impairments may include sign language interpreters, CART/C-Print Services and/or assistive listening systems. Contact the Office of Disability Services to discuss your assistive technology needs.

Temporary Medical Parking
If you have a temporary injury or illness that makes it difficult to walk a long distance from parking lots, the Wellness Center and Campus Safety offices can provide you with a temporary Medical Parking Permit. These permits are available for eight-week periods, with the possibility of an extension, if needed. To be eligible, you must complete an application, provide a copy of your Driver's License and a note from your doctor indicating your injury/illness.
