GUARANTEED PROGRAM-to-PROGRAM ADMISSION AGREEMENT Between BLOOMSBURG UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA and
DELAWARE COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE For Bachelor of Applied Science in Technical Leadership Degree Program
THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this _____ day of _________, 2020, between Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania of the State System of Higher Education and 大发六合彩 (each a 鈥淧arty,鈥 collectively the 鈥淧arties鈥).
NOW THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the foregoing and the mutual promises hereinafter expressed and intending to be legally bound hereby, the Parties agree as follows:
1.INTRODUCTION
Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania and 大发六合彩 agree to establish this Program-to-Program Guaranteed Admissions Agreement (鈥淎greement鈥) whereby students who complete the requirements for any Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) Degree, Associate of Science (A.S.) Degree, Associate of Arts (A.A.) Degree at 大发六合彩 and meet the admission requirements as stated in this Agreement may enter the fifth semester with at least full junior standing in Bloomsburg University鈥檚 Bachelor of Applied Science Degree program in Technical Leadership (BAS-TL). The purposes of this Agreement are:
- To demonstrate the establishment of a seamless Guaranteed Program to Program Admissions Agreement that involves the participating community college and a 4-year Bachelor Degree granting institution.
- To enable qualified graduates of 大发六合彩 to build upon their education and training by earning a baccalaureate degree.
- To enable Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania to attract a more diverse population of students to the Technical Leadership program.
- To enable community college graduates to obtain a quality education at allow cost, and, in doing so, provide the Commonwealth with qualifiedtechnical leaders.
- To ensure recognition of the continuity of academic progress andtransferability of credits between two year and four-year programs.
B.PROCEDURES
大发六合彩 (hereinafter referred to as 鈥淒CCC鈥) agrees to publicize this Guaranteed Program to Program Admissions Agreement to prospective students on DCCC鈥檚 Transfer webpage, as part of regular student recruitment, and inform qualified students matriculating at 大发六合彩of the opportunity for admission to Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania (hereinafter referred to as 鈥淏U鈥) under the terms of this Agreement.
The following items are the responsibility of students participating in this guaranteed admissions program:
- Complete an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.), Associate of Science (A.S.), or Associate of Arts (A.A.) Degree at 大发六合彩with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or greater.
- Submit a BU admissions application with no timelines for applying.
- At the time of the admissions application, provide high school transcripts and transcripts of all college/university courses taken up to and including the previous semester.
- Upon receiving the A.A.S., A.S., A.A. from DCCC, students are responsible for providing final 大发六合彩transcripts to BU.
- Students must pay BU tuition and fees when taking BU courses.
The following items will apply to all matriculated students who have earned the A.A.S., A.S., or A.A. credential at DCCC:
- A block transfer of 60 credits will be accepted from 大发六合彩for graduateswith any A.A.S., A.S., or A.A. majors to the BU Bachelor of AppliedScience in Technical Leadership major. Additional courses not used tosatisfy requirements for the A.A.S., A.S., or A.A. degrees will beevaluated for transfer credit on a course-by-course basis. Credits earned ata college or institution which does not hold accreditation by a regionalaccrediting body are not recognized and will not transfer.
听 - BU recognizes the 大发六合彩A.A.S., A.S., or A.A. degree may be certifiedand confirmed by the completion of: community college courses, dual enrollment credits, transfer course credits, life experience portfolio credits,developmental course credits, credits from courses with grades below 鈥淐,鈥漚rticulated credits from Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, College Level Examination Program (CLEP) testing, Advanced Placement(AP) courses, military training credits and any other courses or learning听elements that have been accepted by the community college as meeting the requirements for their A.A.S., A.S., or A.A. degree.
听 - BU will accept the A.A.S., A.S., or A.A. degree graduate has fulfilled thirty (30) General Education Points (GEP鈥檚) reflective of MyCore, BU鈥檚 General Education program. Students will fulfill their remaining ten (10) GEP鈥檚 through the required 15 courses in the BAS-TL program. These points will be earned by the prescribed courses that have been identified and delivered in the program by The Department of Instructional Technology, to meet the graduation requirements for the BAS-TL major.
听 - An additional fifteen (15) credits of General Education coursework will be required to complete the Bachelor of Applied Science degree. BU encourages all students to complete these courses at our community college partner. As part of fulfilling these BAS-TL requirements, all associate degree graduates should complete at least one course in each of the following areas: mathematics, natural science, and public speaking. Students will not have to retake these courses if they completed them for their associate degree. All graduates of an A.S., A.A., or A.A.S. degree would complete the 15-credit coursework block in courses that complement their associate degree with approval of their BU advisor.
听 - 大发六合彩courses completed to fulfill the BU 15 General Education credits while enrolled in the BAS-TL program are, as such, part of the BAS-TL curriculum. Although the courses are completed at the community college, the credits are transferred back to BU. Courses with a grade below a 鈥淐鈥 will be accepted in the same manner as a resident student on the BU campus. Procedurally, this approach applies the same standards to students in our off-campus BAS-TL programs that are applied to students who are residents at the BU main campus; BAS-TL students would not be dually enrolled at both 大发六合彩and BU.
听 - Students who elect to change their major at BU will receive a new transfer evaluation using the standard course-by-course method of evaluation.
C. CONDITIONS OF THE AGREEMENT
- BU shall ensure that 大发六合彩students who matriculate to BU have all of the rights and privileges of other BU students.
- Both Parties agree to consult with each other through appropriate channels prior to implementing major changes in policy or curricula that directly affect students transferring under the terms of this Agreement, and keep each other informed of any other changes of policy or curricula that affect those students.
- Both Parties agree to exchange anonymous aggregate data annually that will contribute to the maintenance and improvement of this Agreement, enhance the transfer process, and promote effective cooperation between the Parties.
- Each Party will identify an appropriate contact person who will monitor compliance with the terms of this Agreement.
- The term of this Agreement shall be five years commencing when all applicable signatures are obtained.
- Either Party may terminate the Agreement upon written notification of the other at least one year in advance of the effective date of termination. Should this Agreement be terminated, it is understood that the termination will not apply to students already accepted to BU under this Agreement. In the event of a substantial breach, such as, a lack of response to requests for information and a lack of adequate participation, either Party may terminate this agreement by written notice at least one year in advance of the effective date of termination.
- The relationship of the Parties to this contract shall not be construed to constitute a partnership, joint venture, or any other relationship, other than that of independent contractors.
- Neither of the Parties shall assume any liabilities as a result of this Agreement. As to liability to each other or death to persons, or damages to property, the Parties do not waive any defense as a result of entering into this contract. This provision shall not be construed to limit BU or DCCC鈥檚 rights, claims or defenses, which arise as a matter of law pursuant to any provisions of this contract. This provision shall not be construed to limit the sovereign immunity, as applicable, or any other immunities afforded to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, BU, or DCCC, by law or otherwise.
- This Agreement represents the understanding between the Parties at this time. This Agreement contains the entire Agreement between the Parties regarding the subject matter herein and supersedes any prior written agreement, oral understanding or any other representation or statement between the Parties regarding this subject matter.
- This Agreement can be modified only by written agreement of both parties.
- This Agreement shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Both Parties agree to continue their respective policies of nondiscrimination in regard to sex, age, race, color, creed, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status or any other status protected by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972, the American with Disabilities Act, or any other applicable federal, state, or local law. The parties agree to reasonably cooperate with each other in any investigation of claims of discrimination or harassment, to the extent permitted by law.
- Any notices pertaining to this Agreement shall be in writing and shall be deemed duly to have been given if personally delivered to the other Party, sent by facsimile or if sent by the United States Postal Service certified mail, return receipt requested, postage prepaid or by Federal Express, United Parcel听Service or other nationally-recognized overnight carrier. All notices or communications between BU and 大发六合彩pertaining to this Agreement shall be addressed as follows:
The willingness of both institutions to enter this Agreement in order to facilitate the transfer of students from 大发六合彩to BU, and to expand their opportunities for academic success there, is indicated by the following signatures.
In WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have caused this Agreement to be executed pursuant to due and legal action authorizing the same to be done the date first written below.
