College’s New Music Concert Series Features mélomanie2 On March 2
(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA • February 16, 2023)— mélomanie2, featuring Kimberly Reighley, baroque and modern flutes and Tracy Richardson, harpsichord will perform Thursday, March 2 at 5 p.m. in the Large Auditorium in the Academic Building at ´ó·¢ÁùºÏ²Ê’s Marple Campus, 910 South Media Line Road, Media, PA 19063. The concert will also be livestreamed on Zoom.
mélomanie2 will perform four world premiere works composed specifically for them. The works are Trefoil for alto flute and harpsichord (Mark Hagerty); Sonata in e minor for baroque flute and harpsichord (Chuck Holdeman); A Mirror of Midnight for flute and harpsichord (Larry Nelson); new work for flute, harpsichord and sitar (Richard Belcastro); and two works from the Baroque for baroque flute and obbligato harpsichord, Sonata 4 in E Minor (Joseph Bodin de Boismortier) and Concert 1 in D Major (Georg Philipp Telemann).
The performance is the latest in the College’s 2022-2023 New Music Concert Series. Each semester ´ó·¢ÁùºÏ²Ê students and residents of the Delaware County region have access to concerts featuring the world's top musicians right in their own backyard. The series highlights the expansive musical experience available in the 21st century, presenting virtuosic and innovative musicians from around the globe.
