DCCC鈥檚 Edison Hong Awarded $7,500 Hites Transfer Scholarship from Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society
(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA - March 26, 2024)鈥擡dison Hong of Upper Darby, a fall 2023 graduate of 大发六合彩, is one of 15 students nationwide to receive the 2024 Hites Transfer Scholarship from Phi Theta Kappa, an international honor society for two-year colleges. Hong will receive a $7,500 scholarship for his baccalaureate studies.
The Hites Transfer Scholarship is awarded to Phi Theta Kappa members preparing to transfer to a bachelor鈥檚 degree-granting college or university. Winners were selected from 3,000 applicants nationwide for their outstanding academic achievement and rigor, leadership accomplishments, and engagement in college and community activities.聽
Hong earned his associate degree from the College in the fall of 2023 with majors in Computer Science and Business Administration. He now attends Georgia Institute of Technology, where he majors in Computer Science with a specialization in Intelligence and Information Internetworks. While at DCCC, he served as president and founder of the Computer Science Club, president of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society, president of the Business Society, and vice president of the Science Club and the Engineering Club.
As a 大发六合彩technical research assistant, in conjunction with help from the University of Pennsylvania, Hong worked with 大发六合彩professor of Political Science Ife Williams, Ph.D., on her project, 鈥淢apping Resistance of Africans and African Descendants to Colonialism and Segregation, 1945-1990.鈥
The Hites Transfer Scholarship is made possible by support from the Hites Family Foundation and the Phi Theta Kappa Foundation. This is the largest scholarship Phi Theta Kappa awards to its members.聽
