(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA 鈥 April 13, 2022)鈥敶蠓⒘喜 announced today that it has earned the 2022-2023 Military Friendly庐 School Gold designation. Institutions recognized as a Military Friendly庐 School were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. More than 1,800 schools participated in the 2022-2023 survey, with 665 earning special awards, such as the gold designation, for going above the standard.
The 2022-2023 Military Friendly庐 Schools list will be published in the May and October issues of G.I. Jobs magazine and can be found at . Methodology, criteria and weightings were determined by Viqtory with input from the Military Friendly庐 Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community. Final ratings were determined by combining the institution鈥檚 survey scores with the assessment of the institution鈥檚 ability to meet thresholds for student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, persistence (degree advancement or transfer) and loan default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans.

Joy Gates Black, a U.S. veteran who attended college under the G.I. bill while serving in the Air Force. 鈥淭he Military Friendly庐 School Gold designation recognizes the important work the College does to create a welcoming environment for active, reserve and former members of the U.S. Armed Services and their families.鈥

The College offers credit for military training and knowledge that applies to a course; career counseling; and day, evening, weekend and online classes. The College has staff skilled in helping veterans and their family members to navigate the intricacies of U.S. government benefits and financial aid.
In January 2017, the College opened a Veterans Center at its Marple Campus through the generous donations of local businesswoman Pam Mariani and the Wilbur C. and Betty Lea Henderson Foundation. The Center is equipped with computers, satellite cable, a Prisoner of War (POW) table, military flags and other amenities. It serves as a space for studying, socializing and veterans-focused programming.
Kayla Lopez, national director of military partnerships for Military Friendly庐, said the Military Friendly庐 designation encourages colleges and universities to consistently evolve and invest in their education and training programs for U.S. military members, veterans and their families. 鈥淢ilitary Friendly庐 is committed to transparency and providing consistent data-driven standards in our designation process. Our standards provide a benchmark that promotes positive outcomes and support services that better the educational landscape and provide opportunity for the Military Community.
