大发六合彩 Culinary Arts Students Win Blue Ribbon for 鈥淏est Dessert鈥 at Sweet Charity 2023 Competition
(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA - April 12, 2023) 鈥 大发六合彩 Culinary Arts students received the Blue Ribbon for 鈥淏est Dessert鈥擯rofessional Vote鈥 at Sweet Charity 2023, a Chester County Community Foundation (CCF) dessert competition between the finest restaurants, bakeries and caterers Chester County has to offer. The event was held March 28 at the Chester County Food Bank.
Tom Bodkin, Lucas Jenkins-Michl and Marian Haller were the only college students in the competition, putting their skills to test against 12 teams comprised of some of Chester County鈥檚 finest dessert chefs. Their mouthwatering entry, 鈥淐hocolate Orange Br没l茅e Slice,鈥 was voted the winner by a panel of professional judges. The students worked for four weeks under the guidance of 大发六合彩 chef instructor Lynn Lindquist to prepare for the event, which supports CCF鈥檚 mission to connect people with causes that matter.
The foodservice industry workforce is projected to grow by 500,000 jobs by the end of 2023, according to the National Restaurant Association. 大发六合彩鈥檚 Culinary Arts program offers a flexible schedule and comprehensive curriculum in which students explore everything from baking to international, ethnic and regional cuisines, as well as menu planning and food service purchasing.
Students can pursue a Culinary Arts associate degree or certificate while learning the current industry standard for planning, operation, safe food handling practices and record keeping in a restaurant, catering, or food service operation.
