Return to Learn Week May 14-16 Offers Learning, Fun and Fellowship for Adults 55 And Older
(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA )鈥敶蠓⒘喜 will hold its 39th annual Return to Learn Week (formerly Elder Week) on May 14, 15 and 16, during which community members 55 years and older can learn new skills, make new friends and immerse themselves in new subject matter in specially designed mini-classes on the College鈥檚 Marple Campus, 901 S. Media Line Road, Media, PA 19063.
Students will find courses ranging from Astronomy and Astrochemistry to Landscape Design, from Contemporary Short Stories to Line Dancing, and Acrylic Painting to Cinema History. Students can also learn practical skills such as carpentry, healthy cooking, and how to manage income and expenses during retirement. 鈥淭here is literally something for everyone,鈥 said Tricia Scepansky, the College鈥檚 director of Community Education.
Registration is $130 for all three days, or $115 for two days, which includes eight workshops, continental breakfast and tempting lunches. Most classes and activities will take place in the College鈥檚 modern, light-filled STEM Center, which is conveniently located next to the parking lots and easily accessible. Advance registration is required and limited. Classes and workshops are filled on a first-come, first-registered basis. The preferred form of registration and payment is by phone with a credit card at 610-359-5025. The registration deadline is May 10. Mail-in registrations should be postmarked no later than May 10. The College cannot guarantee class placement but will do its best to enroll registrants in the classes they most desire. Placement is based on rolling enrollment.
