Free Summer Bridge Program Helps Students Get College-Ready for DCCC
(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA - May 21, 2024)鈥擲tudents entering 大发六合彩 this fall may qualify for the Summer 2024 Bridge Program, designed to help incoming students become college ready. Open to high school graduates planning to attend the College, the program is designed to help students enhance their academic skills, increase their self-confidence and successfully transition into college-level coursework.聽
Participating students will have the opportunity to improve their skills in English, reading and mathematics before starting regular College classes. Tutoring and counseling are key components of the program in addition to coursework, so students must be able to attend classes in person at the Marple Campus, 901 S. Media Line Road, Media, PA 19063, Monday through Thursday, June 24 through August 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for the full seven weeks (During the summer months the College is closed on Fridays.).
To qualify for the program, students must be new to 大发六合彩with a high school diploma, GED, or a gap of three or more years since attending school. They will also be required to score at a certain level on the College鈥檚 placement tests in ENG 050, REA 050 and MAT 025 or MAT 050. Tutoring, computers and support services will be available free of charge, as well as structured lab sessions with professional tutors. College staff will teach students study skills to improve their reading, organizing, note-taking, time management and test-taking, and will offer assistance with career-planning and decision-making, course selection and more.聽
To determine eligibility, students must complete the College鈥檚 admission application and placement test. Summer 2024 Bridge Program credits are not applicable toward a degree or certificate.
