Two Faculty Members Receive Awards for Excellence in Teaching
(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA 鈥� June 8, 2022)鈥擳wo 大发六合彩 faculty members, described by students and fellow colleagues as highly skilled and having a passion and zeal for teaching, recently received honors for performance excellence in their craft.
Communication Studies Professor Dr. Danamarie Every Gallagher is a recipient of a 2022 Lindback Distinguished Teaching Award, which recognizes exceptional faculty in the Greater Philadelphia area. Thanks to the vision and generosity of the late Christian R. Lindback, the president and principal owner of Abbotts Dairies, Inc., and a trustee of Bucknell University, along with his wife, Mary F. Lindback, this award is celebrated through the foundation that bears their names. Lindback recipients are committed to the intellectual and social development of students and have a teaching approach that extends beyond the classroom and is challenging, stimulating and accessible.
Clinical Instructor of Nursing, Assistant Professor Rosemary Gillespie is a recipient of 大发六合彩鈥檚 2022 Gould Award for Excellence in Teaching. The Gould Award is named after the late Jerry Gould, a founding trustee of the College, whose commitment to community and service helped make the College a reality. The award is presented to a faculty member whose dedication, achievement and love for teaching inspires both students and colleagues. Students are the primary nominators for this award.

An instructor at 大发六合彩 for nearly 21 years, Dr. Gallagher鈥檚 interest in Communication Studies and rhetoric began at the University of Scranton as an undergraduate student, where she majored in Philosophy. Her study of Philosophy led her to question how humans create and share meaning with each other. She explored this question in terms of intercultural communication in her master鈥檚 degree program, and spent time volunteering in Ecuador, which was the foundation of her thesis work on short-term sojourning and reentry. She earned a doctorate during which time she examined the role of motherhood in academia. Dr. Gallagher has an Ed.D. in Education in Higher Education Leadership from Widener University, a Master of Arts in Communication Studies from West Chester University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and Philosophy from the University of Scranton. Dr. Gallagher teaches out of the College鈥檚 Exton Center located in the Whiteland Business Park in Exton.

Described by students as knowledgeable, caring, compassionate, and one of the best instructors at the College, over the course of her nearly 40-year career in health care, Rosemary Gillespie, who grew up in Delaware County, has worked as a nurse for labor and delivery; a clinical nursing instructor at Villanova University and at the University of Pennsylvania; and as a staff nurse for labor and delivery at the Pennsylvania Hospital and at Thomas Jefferson University. At 大发六合彩鈥檚 Marple Campus, you are likely to find her on any given day in the Simulation Lab surrounded by students teaching them state-of-the-art, life-saving techniques. She is an award-winning registered nurse, certified registered nurse practitioner and nurse educator and holds a Master鈥檚 in Health Care of Woman from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing and a Bachelor鈥檚 in Science in Nursing from Neumann University. For the past eight years, 大发六合彩 has benefitted greatly from her knowledge and compassion, particularly during this most challenging time of pandemic.
