44 Cadets Graduate from DCCC鈥檚 Municipal Police Academy, Including 14 SEPTA Police Officers, 7 Female Officers聽
(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA - June 17, 2024)鈥擣orty-four new police officers graduated from 大发六合彩鈥檚 Municipal Police Academy on Thursday, June 13 during a ceremony held at Ridley High School in Folsom. The graduation class included 14 newly hired officers for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, seven female cadets, three Chester County Sheriff鈥檚 Office officers, two Amtrak officers and one Lincoln University officer.聽
The guest speaker was the Honorable Judge Kevin F. Kelly, Delaware County Court of Common Pleas.聽
Among the police cadet award winners were Nicholas Fernandez of Oxford, who received the Academic Award; Olivia Dill of West Chester and Angel Chimal-Rodriguez of West Grove, who earned the Physical Fitness Award; and Andrew Carroll of Newtown Square and Ryan Millay of Haverford, who received the Quest for the Best Award.聽
鈥淭his has been a terrific class, one of the most pleasant I have ever directed,鈥 said William Davis, director of the 大发六合彩Municipal Police Academy for the past 33 years.
More than 95 percent of the municipal police officers in Delaware County and more than 75 percent of the police officers in Chester County graduate from the College鈥檚 Police Academy. Cadets are required to complete a rigorous, 920-hour curriculum that includes extensive instruction in firearms, physical fitness, self-defense, Homeland Security, scenario training and practical exercises. The Academy is certified by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania through the Municipal Police Officers鈥 Education and Training Commission. Training and coursework take place at the College鈥檚 Marple Campus.聽
The MPA has been serving the community since 1977 and conducts mandatory Act 180 in-service training for current municipal police officers. The next Police Academy class starts July 2024. Interested individuals should visit for more information.
