College Invites the Community to Its First Diversity Dialogue Hosted by the College鈥檚 New Center for Equity and Social Justice
(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA听鈥 July 20,听2020)鈥敶蠓⒘喜殊檚 new Center for Equity and Social Justice will hold the first in a series of 鈥淒ialogues for Diversity鈥 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday, July 28. The topic of the first dialogue will be 鈥淧olicing and Our Communities.鈥
Speakers scheduled to participate in the dialogue are: Wayne E. Croft, Sr., D. Min., Ph.D., pastor of Saint Paul鈥檚 Baptist Church in West Chester; Dr. Merrill Irving, Jr., president of Hennepin Technical College in Minnesota; Attorney Enrique Latoison, 2020 大发六合彩 Alumni Professional Achievement Award recipient; Yeadon Borough Police Chief Anthony Paparo; Delaware County Sheriff鈥檚 Department Deputy Danielle Pettyjohn; and Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer.
鈥淭he recent events involving police officers have created outrage throughout the country,鈥 said 大发六合彩 President Dr. L. Joy Gates Black. 鈥淭his dialogue will be an opportunity to hear from local officers and community leaders as they discuss issues and concerns from multiple perspectives. Additionally, the dialogue will allow for an open question-and-answer session with our panelists. It is so important that our local law enforcement hear the voices of the people of Delaware and Chester counties.鈥
The College鈥檚 newly created Center for Equity and Social Justice is designed to encourage courageous, respectful community conversations about the sensitive, often controversial issues of racism and social injustice. The Center is under the purview of the College鈥檚 Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the dialogue will take place as a live video webinar. The virtual event is free and open to the public.
