(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA - July 25, 2023)鈥擳hanks to a new program launched by 大发六合彩 and Delaware County Council, high school juniors interested in teaching careers can now attend the College and earn up to 38 credits toward a degree in education鈥攁t no cost to them or their families.聽
Intended to address the critical shortage of teachers in the county, the two-year Teacher Education Program is open to current high school juniors in Fall 2023. Students enrolled in the program will attend classes at 大发六合彩鈥檚 Marple Campus. Those who complete all two years will earn 38 college credits from the College. These credits can be transferred into an associate degree program at the College or used to transfer into a four-year institution such as West Chester University.聽
鈥淚n response to the current statewide and regional teacher shortage, 大发六合彩 has created a new, two-year Teacher Education Program for high school juniors through funding by the Delaware County Council,鈥� said Marta Yera Cronin, Ed.D., President of 大发六合彩. 鈥淎t no cost to students, their families, or the school districts, candidates can complete 38 credits toward an associate or bachelor's degree in education. This program hopes to shorten the time to prepare up to 70 students as qualified teaching professionals.鈥� 聽
Delaware County Council unanimously voted to approve funding for this new Teacher Education Program during its July 5 public meeting.聽
