Project Management Professional Certification Courses Now Available
(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA • July 28, 2016)—If you have significant experience working on projects, then Project Management Professional (PMP) certification through ´ó·¢ÁùºÏ²Ê and the Project Management Institute-Delaware Valley Chapter (PMI-DVC) might be the next step in your career. The College and PMI-DVC have partnered together to offer courses that can prepare you for PMP certification. These courses will cultivate your project management knowledge, skills and abilities, enabling you to demonstrate project management expertise and professional experience.
Earning PMP certification signifies to an employer that you understand the global language of project management. Plus, according to Earning Power: Project Management Salary Survey, Ninth Edition, certification holders earn 20 percent more than their non-certified peers. The College is offering two PMP courses this fall:
Foundations in Project Management
This course brings you up-to-speed in current principles and practices of project management. Taught by PMP-certified practitioners working in the field as well as academic practitioners, you will immediately apply what you have learned as well as study for PMP certification. Offered on four Saturdays—October 1, 8, 15 and 22 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Marple Campus (901 S. Media Line Road, Media, PA). The cost is $995. PMI members pay a discounted rate of $895.
PMP Exam Prep
This preparation course is intended for those who have gained experience in project work or may have already taken project management courses, and focuses on how to prepare, study for and take the PMP credential exam. The course is aligned with PMI's A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge - Fifth Edition and includes a review of material normally covered in the exam, including sample test questions. Offered on two Saturdays—November 5 and 12 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Marple Campus (901 S. Media Line Road, Media, PA). The cost is $895. PMI members pay a discounted rate of $795.
If you enroll in both the Foundations in Project Management and the PMP Exam Prep courses at the same time, you will receive an additional $200 discount. Enrollees who take the PMP exam and do not pass may retake the PMP Exam Prep.
