New Music Concert Series Presents Byrne:Kozar:Duo 9/16
(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA聽鈥� September 6, 2018)鈥敶蠓⒘喜殊�檚 New Music Concert Series kicks off the fall season with a performance by Byrne:Kozar:Duo on Sunday, September 16. The performance begins at 3 p.m. in the Large Auditorium of the Academic Building on the Marple Campus (901 South Media Line Road, Media, PA).
The Byrne:Kozar:Duo, comprised of Corrine Byrne and Andy Kozar, presents historically informed performances of Baroque music for natural trumpet and soprano in addition to commissioning new works for modern trumpet and soprano. Performing works by Rob Deemer, Reiko Fu虉ting, Paula Matthusen, David Smooke, Scott Wollschleger and Scott Worthington, they have been said to create 鈥渁n arresting symbiosis in their melding of voice and trumpet timbres鈥� (Textura) and that the 鈥渢rumpet and voice seem to take on one another's qualities鈥� (Bandcamp Daily).聽聽As individuals, Byrne has been called a 鈥渃elebrated singer鈥� (Broadway World) and 鈥渁 rising star鈥� (Arts Westchester) while Kozar has been called a 鈥渟tar soloist鈥� (TimeOutNY) and 鈥減olished and dynamic, with very impressive playing鈥� (Baltimore Sun).
