Reignite Your Career Workshop Begins 9/17
(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA 鈥� September 10, 2018)鈥敶蠓⒘喜� is offering a 10-week career workshop for individuals looking to refresh their career. Reignite Your Career聽begins September 17 and runs until November 19. The workshop is held on Mondays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Marple Campus (901 S. Media Line Road, Media, PA).
Reignite Your Career provides structure and support for men and women attempting to cope with the uncertainty of a changing job market.聽The workshop is targeted to those considering a change in career direction such as the unemployed, the under-employed, or the unhappily employed. Participants will learn how to manage their own careers and take the Myers-Briggs Personality Indicator and the Strong Interest Inventory to assess career satisfiers and occupational interests. They will use card sorts to identify motivated skills, burn-out skills and personal priorities.聽聽In addition, participants will identify their strongest marketable skills and develop an individualized plan to move ahead proactively. One-to-one consultation appointments with one of the group leaders will be scheduled, and later sessions will explore networking strategies and online tools including LinkedIn and will emphasize the importance of taking a proactive role in career decision making.
Workshop designers and facilitators are career counselors Ruth Campbell and Carol Dougherty.聽聽Both Campbell, a professor at the College, and Dougherty are Licensed Professional Counselors in Pennsylvania and hold national certifications in career counseling.聽聽They each have extensive experience working with adults in career transition. 鈥淲orkers need to have a stronger career strategy than ever before,鈥� says Campbell. 鈥淓mployers want to see that you understand their needs.鈥�
The cost of the workshop is $114 for residents of sponsoring school districts, $144 for those in non-sponsoring districts.聽The cost of the Myers-Briggs and the Strong Inventory is included.
