Julianna Moss Races to School Record with Runner-Up Finish at EPAC Women’s Cross Country Championships
(Nanticoke, Pa. • October 21, 2019)—´ó·¢ÁùºÏ²Ê student-athlete Julianna Moss ran into the program’s record books with a runner-up finish at the Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (EPAC) Championships this past Sunday afternoon at Luzerne County Community College. Moss, a 2019 graduate of Ridley High School, crossed the finish line of the 5k race with a school-record time of 20:51.
No stranger to the Luzerne County running course, Moss competed in the Luzerne County Invitational in mid-September. Sunday’s record-setting time displayed the results of a season of hard work as Moss showed an almost three-minute improvement from her previous appearance on the same course. The Secane native has been a model of consistency in her first year in a Phantoms uniform as she has finished in the top 10 in four of the five meets in which she has participated.
Chester High School graduate Danayzah Fitgerald clocked the College’s previous school-record time of 22:31 in 2018.
The cross country season will continue for Moss at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III Region XIX Championships next Saturday in Newark, Del.
