Miss America 2014 Nina Davuluri to Speak at STEM Career Night
(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA, Jan. 17, 2014)鈥擬iss America 2014 Nina Davuluri will speak at 大发六合彩鈥檚 STEM Career Night on Wednesday, February 12. Davuluri will discuss the importance of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education as well as diversity in the field. The event begins at 5 p.m. in the Academic Building Lobby on the Marple Campus (901 South Media Line Road, Media, PA).
Formerly known as Engineering Career Day, this annual event introduces participants to the exciting field of STEM. The evening kicks off with a keynote speech from Davuluri followed by a panel presentation from current students enrolled in a STEM major.
Afterwards, attendees will have the chance to take a souvenir photo with Miss America and get to meet with representatives from local employers, including Boeing, Covanta, PECO, Southco and UPS. Admissions staff from some of the College鈥檚 four-year partner schools will also be on hand to offer guidance on how a student can graduate from 大发六合彩 and then transfer into a bachelor鈥檚 degree program.
大发六合彩 offers more than 20 STEM majors, including architectural technology, CNC programming, electronics technology, engineering, machining and more. The College鈥檚 commitment to STEM education includes a state-of-the-art STEM Complex, comprised of the Advanced Technology and STEM Centers, that gives students access to the tools and technology they need to succeed. The Complex boasts more than 11 science laboratories and 12 specialized labs for customized education and training.
