Free Seminar on Patient Safety in Pennsylvania Offered May 9
(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA, April 25, 2014)鈥敶蠓⒘喜 is offering a free seminar on 鈥淧atient Safety in Pennsylvania鈥 on Friday, May 9 from 6 to 9 p.m. as part of National Nurses Week. Franchesca Charney, Director of Educational Programs for the Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority, will facilitate the session. The event will be held in the Large Auditorium in the Academic Building on the Marple Campus (901 South Media Line Road, Media, PA).
Registered nurses and those working in or interested in the healthcare field are invited to attend this free session hosted by the College鈥檚 Allied Health, Emergency Services and Nursing Division. Through thought-provoking discussion Charney will encourage healthcare professionals to think differently. Attendees will learn about the issues surrounding patient safety, recognize the importance of collaboration, identify human factors that play a role in patient safety and more.
Charney is a well-respected expert in the field. She began her career as a registered nurse and has an RN with a Bachelor鈥檚 of Science degree and a Master鈥檚 of Arts degree in Healthcare Administration. Her certifications include Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management, Certified Patient Safety Officer, Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality, Certified Professional in Patient Safety and a Distinguished Fellow in the American Society of Healthcare Risk Management. She joined the Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority as Director of Educational Programs in 2008.
Registered nurses can receive 2.5 CEUs upon completion of the entire program. To qualify, attendees must sign the event attendance roster prior to the program start time; attend the entire presentation; verify participation by completing an evaluation form at the end of the event and returning the form; and sign the attendance roster attesting receipt of CEU certificate at the conclusion of the program.聽聽聽
