Sitarist Richard Belcastro to Perform April 12
(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA • April 1, 2015)—´ó·¢ÁùºÏ²Ê’s New Music Concert Series presents sitarist Richard Belcastro on Sunday, April 12 at 3 p.m. The concert will be held in the College’s Large Auditorium in the Academic Building on the Marple Campus (901 S. Media Line Road, Media, PA).
Sitarist and composer Richard Belcastro explores the potential of his instrument well outside of its Indian classical roots by writing and performing new works featuring the sitar in a variety of traditionally western styles and instrumentations. Come hear the premiere performances of new music composed by Belcastro and Joseph Nocella, both ´ó·¢ÁùºÏ²Ê faculty. Enjoy guest performances by cellist Naomi Gray, clarinetist Joshua Kovach, and guitarist and pianist Nocella.
