Free Credit for Prior Learning Information Sessions Offered October 6 & 8
(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA • September 3, 2015)— Knowledge gained through training and life experiences can be turned into valuable college credit. Learn more at one of ´ó·¢ÁùºÏ²Ê’s Credit for Prior Learning information sessions, offered Tuesday, October 6, at 5:30 p.m. at the Marple Campus (Room 2256, 901 S. Media Line Road, Media, PA) and Thursday, October 8, at 5:30 p.m. at the Exton Center (Room 217, 906 Springdale Drive, Exton, PA). These sessions will help students discover ways to earn academic credit for learning acquired outside of the classroom.
Students come to college from a variety of backgrounds and experiences, some of which may involve college-level learning. Prior learning assessment can help students attain credit for learning they have already mastered outside of the traditional college classroom. Credit received may be applied to many programs of study at ´ó·¢ÁùºÏ²Ê, allowing students to complete their college education sooner and at a much lower cost.
Assessment counselors will help students identify practical and relevant life experiences, such as participation in professional workshops, volunteer activities, and military or technical training classes, equivalent or closely related to the learning expectations of the College’s courses. Information will also be available about the College-Level Examination Program, credit by examination, transfer of credits from other colleges and portfolio development.
For more information or to register for one of the sessions, call the Assessment Center at 610-359-5322 any time Monday through Thursday between 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. or Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Â
