(Delaware/Chester County, PA) The annual Lou Scott Golf Classic, now in its twelfth year, is scheduled for Tuesday, June 5. The event will be held at The Golf Course at Glen Mills – rain or shine. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m.. The shotgun start begins at noon.
The annual outing is a tribute to Lou Scott, former principal of Penncrest High School, who passed away in 2000. Scott was the Special Assistant to the President of ´ó·¢ÁùºÏ²Ê at the time of his death. Proceeds from the outing provide scholarship support primarily for Penncrest High School students. Students from other high schools who attend ´ó·¢ÁùºÏ²Ê are also eligible.Â
The Lou Scott Golf Classic attracts members of the Scott family, friends and colleagues, as well as many of the College’s constituents. The outing has raised more than $150,000 to date and has provided 50 scholarships to ´ó·¢ÁùºÏ²Ê since 2001.
The fee for an individual golfer is $200, $500 for a twosome (with hole sponsor) and $1,000 for a foursome (with hole sponsor). The Golf Course at Glen Mills is nationally ranked in the Top 10 and No. 1 in Pennsylvania by Golf Digest (in 2003, 2004, 2005) as a new upscale daily fee golf course.
