(Media, PA) Opera lovers in the Delaware Valley can now enjoy “live” concerts at ϲ. The College will simulcast a variety of performances at private venues around the world that will broadcast live in HD. All performances will be in the large auditorium in the academic building at the Marple Campus, 901 S. Media Line Road, Media, PA.
These presentations bring the classical realm of music, dance and opera closer to home for residents of Delaware and Chester counties. Each concert is produced in real time using a state-of-the-art audiovisual system and is choreographed to capture the fullness of the orchestral performance and the intimacy of the on-stage experience. The simulcast series began in January 2011 and featured the Philadelphia Orchestra performing six concerts. The response was overwhelming, which led the Performing Arts Department to engage in a number of other classical presentations that continues this fall with the North American Premier of The New York Philharmonic Live In Pyongyang (English and Korean with English, French, Spanish and Japanese subtitles) on Sunday, November 6 at 2:00 PM.
Admission to the concerts is $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and $7.50 for students. For presale and group ticket pricing, please contact Campus Life, office 2518 or call 610-359-5341. Tickets are available at the door the day of the event - cash only.
