SpectiCast Series Presents Abbado Conducts Mahler and Beethoven

(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA)—´ó·¢ÁùºÏ²Ê’s SpectiCast series continues with an HD broadcast of the North American Premiere of Abbado Conducts Mahler and Beethoven on Sunday, February 24, 2013, at 2 p.m. The performance will be shown in the Large Auditorium in the Academic Building on the Marple Campus (901 S. Media Line Road, Media, PA).
Conducted by Claudio Abbado, the show features pianist Maurizio Pollini and the Lucerne Festival Orchestra. The repertoire includes Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major, Op. 58 and Mahler’s Symphony No. 5 in C sharp minor. The performance runs for 107 minutes.
Now in its third year, the College’s SpectiCast series brings the classical realm of music, dance and opera closer to home for residents of Delaware and Chester Counties. Each performance is produced using a state-of-the-art audiovisual system and is choreographed to capture the fullness of the orchestral performance and the intimacy of the on-stage experience.
