ÌýMuch Ado ´ó·¢ÁùºÏ²Ê Nothing, a play by William Shakespeare, will be presented by ´ó·¢ÁùºÏ²Ê Theater Arts Department.ÌýÌý The play directed by Stephen Smith, is a comedy about two pairs of lovers, Benedick and Beatrice, and Claudio and Hero. Benedick and Beatrice are engaged in a "merry war;" they both talk a mile a minute and proclaim their scorn for love, marriage, and each other. In contrast, Claudio and Hero are sweet young people who are rendered practically speechless by their love for one another. By means of "noting" (which sounds the same as "nothing," and which is gossip, rumor, and overhearing), Benedick and Beatrice are tricked into confessing their love for each other, and Claudio is tricked into rejecting Hero at the altar.
The cast and crew members are students from the College and come from various disciplines and curricula. The Drama Department is committed to providing a comprehensive theater education for its students. In turn, they bring the results to the community through vibrant, thought-provoking productions, featuring one play per semester in a setting that provides the community access to professional quality theater.
