PACE+ Residential Carpentry and Electrical Programs
DCCC鈥檚 new PACE+ program is enrolling for the Residential Carpentry and Residential Electrical programs!
What is PACE+?
The 鈥Pre-Apprenticeships to Apprenticeships for Carpenters and Electricians, Plus,鈥 or PACE+ program, is a collaboration between local unions, employers, and Delaware County鈥檚 Workforce Development Board, Technical Schools and Commerce Center听among other partners, and offers short-term programs that provide the foundation for launching apprenticeships, certificates of competency and career paths.

What you need to know about PACE+:
- This听credit program can be completed in one academic year
- Program available to dual enrollment and traditional students
- Grant funds for tuition and fees are available, however limited
- Students receive OSHA Certification
- All classes held on the Marple Campus; schedules vary
Our region currently lacks enough qualified individuals to meet the demand for carpenters and electricians. 大发六合彩is here to meet that need.听The PACE+ project鈥檚 goal is to increase a qualified workforce in our region for this industry.
Options for the PACE+ Graduates Include:
- Applying for an apprenticeship with the:
- Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters (EASRCC), or听
- International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW)听
- Continuing studies at 大发六合彩and completing a Certificate of Competence in:
- Residential Electricity听
- Residential Carpentry, and/or听
- Associates degree in Technology Studies
- Entering directly into the workforce in the Building Trades

Who is Eligible?
The program is open to all adults seeking to jumpstart a career in Skilled Trades. High School juniors and seniors may enter the program through the Dual Enrollment initiative.听
What is the Cost?
PACE+, through the PA Department of Labor, provides funding for tuition and fees for a limited number of students; it is, therefore, important to apply and register early. In addition, a tool box is presented to students who complete the first three courses in the program. Textbooks are not covered. (PACE+ graduates who continue their studies to complete the Certificate in either Residential Electricity or Residential Carpentry are eligible to apply for Kelleher Connect Scholarships听which can cover all tuition and fees needed to complete the remaining certificate requirements.)
What if I Need a Tutor or Need Extra Help in the Classroom?
PACE+ has you covered. All students have access to all of the support programs offered through the College, including those from the Career and Counseling and Student Success Centers.
Does the College Help with Transportation?
The College provides a shuttle between the Marple Campus and the Southeast Center location and the Upper Darby location. Visit the Campus Shuttle web page for more information.听
The Marple Campus is serviced by SEPTA鈥檚 bus routes 112, 115 and 118. The Upper Darby Center is serviced听by SEPTA鈥檚 trolley line from the 69th Street Transportation Center. The Southeast Center is serviced by SEPTA鈥檚 Wilmington/Newark rail line and bus route 115.
Students may also qualify for assistance through the Student Resource Center in the form of SEPTA key cards and Uber rides to resolve specific needs.听
Upon Graduation, What are the Next Steps?
Graduates of each program听will have what it takes to apply for an apprenticeship. Graduates will听have job entry skills and understand the rigor and responsibility that come with an apprenticeship program. Graduates听will leave the program with a resume and also have experience writing cover letters and听completing applications.
